40 Weeks!

This week we have just been having fun crawling around, exploring, and cruising the furniture. We've been going to a few music classes and some new play groups. Oliver loves making music, dancing and watching the other children.

36 Weeks

Oliver is crawling! Crawliver! He's just on the cusp of figuring it out, and it is soooo exciting! He's also doing a really cute peekaboo thing with his towel, or blankie or dirty laundry from his hamper. He holds it over his face for a few seconds and then then pulls it down and smiles. He's changing so much everyday now, you can see the wheels turning in that little head!

35 Weeks

This week was all about the commando crawl! Oliver pulls himself by his arms and shimmies flat on the floor with his left leg only. I put on a video of babies crawling for him to watch and he got so excited he crawled towards it. So like a mean mother, I kept moving it further away so he would keep going. He also enjoys standing holding on to his Smoking Lily hassock, the ottoman, or the banister at the top of the stairs (totally safe, I know). He has pulled himself up into plant pots, the dishwasher and the guitar and is about to get into all kinds of other things I'm sure.

He has learned the sign for light and practices it at breakfast sometimes, but he is usually more distracted by the two Tintin mugs Ben and I drink out of. He tries to say Tintin and gets excited every time we take a sip. He is very fond of his big brother Dexter the budgie, and giggles every time he sees him.

33 Weeks

 "Mmmm, spinach!"

Time keeps flying by...I took Oliver to the pool this week, it was a bit noisy so he was very distracted. He loves bath time, but I think he just needs to get used to the idea of being in such a different environment. We're going to try again at a quieter time. Oliver is sooo close to crawling. He can get in the position but doesn't know what to do with himself and just ends up rocking back and forth. It must be so frustrating to know what you want to do, but just not be quite able yet. We've gone for many walks in the new 'hood and enjoyed the swings at a few different parks this week.

22 Weeks

Okay, so this picture might have been on a whim, a little. Oliver is keeping us busy busy busy!

This week Oliver got a whole bunch of new books, mostly farm animal themed. He loves cows that moo, dogs that woof woof, and cats that meow. Those sounds always bring a huge smile to his face. I highly recommend "Moo, Baa, La La La" for a first baby book.

What else...he's *starting* to nap in his crib more consistently, the morning nap is pretty solid and we're moving on to the midday nap now. I hesitate to say that it is going well, today is the first day and so far so good.

The little monkey had started reaching up his arms when he wants to be held. Absolutely adorable even if it happens constantly. He still loves a cuddle whenever he can get one, and sucks his thumb whenever he remembers it. He's tried a handful of times to crawl backwards, but it's still more of an unplanned scooch right now.

His second bottom tooth showed up and the chewing continues. I'm a little suspicious that there are more on their way soon. Time is just flying.
